Marriage License Requirements in Hawaii

Maui, Hawaii

We will arrange a marriage license appointment for you with a licensing agent on Maui. Marriage License appointments can be made Monday through Saturday as long as we make them in advance. Both the Bride and Groom will need to be present. This meeting will take approximately 15 minutes. You should have filed online for the license with the Health Dept. before you arrive on Maui. For more information, give us a call. We will usually have our meeting with you right after your licensing appointment. We will send you maps for these appointments about one month prior to your wedding date.

You can apply and pay for your marriage license on line and should do so before you arrive on Maui. It
will still have to be signed in the presence of a Maui Agent.

Hawaii has no residency requirements or waiting period.

If you are 19 years old or younger, please bring your birth certificate with you.

At this time no blood test is required for the bride and groom.

Proof of final divorce is required if granted less than 60 days prior to your wedding.

The fee for the marriage license is $70.00 to the state or to the agent that will provide it for you.

Marriage Licensing agents will not take credit cards. It is best to have cash on hand!

Same sex marriages are now legal in Hawaii! Be sure to apply for the correct license!

If you are planning to be married on a Beach in Hawaii you will also be required to have a permit. The cost is approximately $20. We will obtain this beach permit for you if we are planning your wedding so please reserve early.
